Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role:
This an exciting opportunity for caring, compassionate and talented Support Workers, to work within a well-established service, supporting 1 gentleman living alone, who can be shy and easily alarmed. He has a diagnosis of Epilepsy, type 2 Diabetes & is also in a wheelchair, but with access to his own car, allowing him to go out whenever he needs to.
The gentleman within this service enjoys music - going to the theatre and clubs to watch live bands, having meals out and going out for drives. He loves animals and regular trips out to Knowsley Safari Park, Liverpool, Southport and Blackpool.
This service is a 3 bedroom bungalow, with gardens surrounding the house and a shared driveway with the neighbours. Daisy Bank is part of a quiet community, with a park, a library and plenty of pubs and takeaways nearby.
Staff who would be suitable for this service are those who have the skills to support this gentleman in a way that makes sense to him, staff need to have a calming manner around him, be patient, caring and to understand the person that he is.
Staff here also need to be PEG trained and being a driver would be extremely beneficial for this service.
