Job description
Apollo Home Healthcare is seeking experienced Support Workers to assist our service user with his complex care needs.
We are looking for compassionate Support Workers who are passionate about their job, enjoy delivering one-to-one support, and can build positive relationships with our service users and their families
Our service user is an adult male who lives in Didsbury and requires care on a 1:1 basis throughout the day.
He is a gentleman in his 60s who is hugely passionate about campaigning for access to the community for people with disabilities. He has accomplished several achievements including running successful businesses and being awarded an MBE for his accomplishments.
He has a keen interest in football and enjoys attending his local matches and has his own dedicated suite, where he likes to go to watch games regularly.
Our service user is also a very sociable character who likes to engage in activities in the community including going to his local Pub and eating out with friends and his care team. Our service user also enjoys being involved with the community and his main goal is to be able to spend as much time as possible in community, attending events and days out.
He also enjoys trips to York with his care team and this is something he would like to do as a goal on a regular basis.
As his dedicated Support Worker, you will be there to assist him with his clinical and social needs, this can include but is not limited to carrying out all personal care, moving and handling, and meal preparation.
During the night, as the support worker you will be required to assist with his evening routine, personal care and his non invasive ventilator.
We have a range of shifts available to work with this client and the ideal candidate will need to be flexible and open to covering a range of different shifts as outlined below.
Our service user has specifically requested for female staff to work on their team.
Essential Experience Required
- 3 months of previous care experience
- Personal Care
- Moving and Handling
- Medication Administration
- UK Driving license with access to your own car.
Desirable Experience
- Spinal Injury Care
- Knowledge of Autonomic Dysreflexia
- Respiratory Care
- Cough Assist
- Ventilation Management
- Catheter Care
- Bowel Management
We have the following shifts available;
- Full time and Part Time
- Days- 7.30am-6.30pm
- Pop Ins- 8am-2pm & 8am-12pm
- Alternative Weekends

Weekdays £12.50-£13.00 per hour Approx. up to £130 per 10 hour shift
Weeknights £12.50-£13.50 per hour Approx. up to £135 per 10 hour shift
Weekends £13.50-£14.00 per hour Approx. up to £140 per 10 hour shift
Bank Holidays £16.00- £18.00 per hour Approx. £180 per 10 hour shift
