Salary: PA – £14.00 – £15.28 per hour (additional pay for emergency cover and trips/holidays with Rosie)
Hours: we have a shift pattern, which includes days and waking nights. The majority of the time you would be working independently with Rosie, but during the morning, the shift is shared with another member of staff.

About Rosie

We are looking for a bright, sociable and energetic individual, who has a positive outlook to work within our team. They will be required to support Rosie in her family home, though she will be moving into her own new build house this spring, when construction is completed. Rosie also owns a villa in Spain, which she stays in several times a year and rents out at other times. You will be part of a team supporting her during trips to the villa. You will be responsible for supporting Rosie in both the villa, her new home environment, and other holidays and trips. Within your role, you will also support Rosie during social events, including gigs and festivals. Experience in care would be an advantage but is not essential, as training will be provided to applicants with an aptitude for care.
Duties:
To provide practical support and intimate personal care in line with the client’s requests.
- As directed by the Case Manager and Rehabilitation Co-ordinator provide practical assistance and guidance to support the client in day-to-day living
- Responsible for undertaking support as directed by the client, including study, appointments and social activities
- Support the client in specific areas of physical rehabilitation
- Communication in line with the communications framework between staff of AKA and the client and client’s family/friends, and produce daily records as required
- Operate in line with AKA’s financial and organisational procedures
- Provide a practical high-level service to clients in line with AKA’s standards of care
- Undertake household duties and prepare meals
Person Specification:
Qualifications: Care qualification NVQ level 2 or equivalent an advantage, though not essential. Willingness to train in care skills. Care certificate would also be an advantage.
Experience: We particularly welcome applications from people with experience in spinal cord injury
Skills: Excellent communication
Ability to:
- Develop therapeutic relationships
- Use own initiative and have a proactive attitude
- Form professional working relationships with contractors, staff and client’s family and environment
- Organise workload of self and others
- Keep records in line with protocol
Special requirements:
- Full UK driving license
- Personal care skills including hair and make up
- Car driver essential
- Good IT skills
