THE COMPANY:
New Service in a well establoished company - This home offers a single provision for children and or young people with mental health and or neuro diversity. We aim to provide excellent care through looking after our team and supporting their career spirations.
Must have experience working in either a CQC or OFSTED registered service.
THE ROLE:
As a Theraputic Support Worker, you will be required to provide direct care and support to the children and young people living in the home. You will promote and participate in activities, encourage choice and new opportunities for the children and young people. The role will require you to actively participate in the running and management of the home. You will need to communicate and liaise effectively with the manager, your co-workers, other professionals, and the young people. The role will also require you to carry out general administration duties to assist with the running of the home.
Applicants will be required to work some weekends on a rota basis, undertake sleep-in duties and may be required to go on holiday with the children and young people.
All successful candidates must undergo an enhanced DBS clearance check before beginning work.
We are looking for people to work day shifts and also people to work night shifts (either/or – the same person won’t do both).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Providing direct care and support of children and young people, using therapeutic principles and attachment-aware practice
- Promoting and participating in activities for all children and young people
- Participating in the running of the home
- Offering advice, direct work and mentoring to individual children and young people
- Assisting with general administration duties
- Providing support to the young people.
THE CANDIDATE:
The candidate will have either professional experience working with children in some capacity or have appropriate qualifications, along with an understanding of the developmental needs of children and young people in general – especially those with learning disabilities. You will possess excellent communication skills have a positive attitude and a compassionate, empathetic and caring manner. Although not essential, a full driving licence would be highly advantageous. You will need to be flexible to work shifts, though you will have a predictable pattern. Some sleep-ins may be required, depending on the needs of the young people.
KEY EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL TO THE ROLE:
- Professional experience working with children or qualifications in appropriate disciplines
- An understanding of the developmental needs of children and young people
- Experience and/or desire to work using attachment-aware and trauma-informed approaches
- Excellent communication, leadership and administrative skills
- Ability to work shifts and sleep in

Full Time/ Part-Time/ Bank / Contract: £11.00 - £14.10 per hour
