Job Description
Who are we looking for?
- Ability to work with wide range of IT Technologies (exciting time to join as several of these technologies are just being updated - PC Imaging, application deployment, IT Service Management (ITSM) system)
- Integrate into large team (10 team members) all supporting one another
- Support staff of differing abilities - some very technically minded others not so much
- Possess excellent communication skills for liaise closely with end users and other IT areas
What will you be responsible for?
- Provide 1st and 2nd Line IT Support within the IT Service Desk & PC Support environment
- In person and remote IT support to staff working on site and remote support to staff working remotely
- Provide hardware support for computer platforms predominantly Dell including PCs, laptops and tablets
- Provide Operating System support for predominantly Microsoft Windows, but also some Mac OS and Linux
- Provide imaging and application deployment support – SCCM, WDS, Endpoint, Intune
- Liaise with users and technical teams to identify and resolve problems and fulfil service requests
- Manage tasks and activities using a range of tools and processes including IT Service Management software
- Develop processes and procedure to assist the support team tasks and activities
- Produce knowledge articles for inclusion into the ITSM tool to aid and promote user self-service
Qualifications
Essential skills, experience and competence required
- HNC in Computing or equivalent experience
- At least 5 years’ experience working within an IT Support environment
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems – Windows 10,11
- Working knowledge of MAC operating systems, Linux
- Excellent experience of PC imaging and application deployment
- In-depth knowledge and experience of office-based software systems – MS Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel and associated licensing
- Excellent IT Security awareness – e.g., Malware protection, Passwords, phishing emails & keeping software up to date
- Excellent oral communication skills and able to communicate well with both technical and non-technical individuals
- Remote working software, e.g. VPN, SecurID, MFA
- Microsoft or CompTia certifications
Desirable skills, experience and competence
- Takes an analytical approach to problem solving
- Experience of working with 3rd party suppliers
- Supporting meeting room technologies and software e.g., Zoom, Teams & hardware
- Remote working software – Forticlient, NoMachine, SecurID, MFA
- Carry out the duties of Fire Warden
- Exposure to O365 admin tools, MS Endpoint & Intune, PC Imaging experience
- Preferably from Culham or who can travel to office within an hour
