FCNQ was established in 1967 to provide the rapidly growing cooperative movement with more effective powers and services to help attain their vision “Atautsikut” Together—working to develop as a people, leaving none behind.
Under the supervision of the Senior Network Administrator, you will be responsible for the maintenance, security, and the proper functioning of the computer systems and networks for FCNQ and of the north.
Responsibilities:
- Prevent and resolve any problem related to IT or other technological equipment (ex.: cash registers, servers, network equipment, Windows workstations, Mac and Linux, telephones, fax machines, IP phones, printers, mechanics' equipment , etc.);
- Install and configure all computer hardware, operating systems and software for the north as well as the FCNQ and ensure their proper functioning (necessary upgrades, security, optimization);
- Create email and active directory accounts for new employees and manage the active directory environment in general (ex.: password and login problems);
- Ensure the security of our information systems and of our network installations by following established methods (ex.: Antivirus, virus and malicious software removal, frequent updates, secure network equipment, educating users);
- Manage and prioritize a list of tasks and projects in an organized and efficient manner;
- Install and configure computer equipment, projector and audio systems in the FCNQ conference rooms for trainings, presentations, conferences and for the auditors;
- Load and prepare scanners (PDT) for inventories in the north and the sealift;
- Make requests for equipment purchases and negotiate with suppliers;
- Compose and communicate important messages to FCNQ employees and Coops in both French and English;
- Create tutorials about various computer topics for FCNQ and Coop employees (Ex.: archiving emails, FTP site, reserving conference room, etc.);
- Test and evaluate new technologies for the purpose of possible implementation;
- Remain informed on new technologies and keep up-to-date with various training courses (ex.: Cisco courses, Certifications, Seminars, etc.);
- Any other related tasks requested by the immediate supervisor.
Requirements:
- Diploma of College Studies or DEP in Computer Science Technology;
- 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar position;
- Technical knowledge of Windows operating systems and software installation;
- Technical knowledge in a web environment;
- Possess good analytical skills;
- Be able to solve problems, demonstrate autonomy and take initiative;
- Be a good communicator and enjoy working in a team;
- Able to communicate in French and in English, both verbally and written.
