General Function:
The IT Support Specialist will maintain a highly performant and secure IT infrastructure through solid hands-on contributions. This position will work closely with the IT Manager to support programs, helping them carry out the VOAWW mission. Primary responsibilities will include overseeing the execution of information systems and technology operations to ensure the secure and efficient functioning of internal and external communications and data systems. This position will report directly to the IT Manager.
Principal Activities:
- With guidance from IT Manager, oversee the Agency-wide hardware and software systems and be a strategic problem-solver.
- Responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing hardware & software components of the organization's computers and phones
- Maintaining working components through repair or replacement
- Assisting staff with hardware and software challenges
- Plan and recommend upgrades and appropriate projects
- Communicate proactively and effectively to IT Manager
- Responsible for maintenance and updating of all IT Department information.
- Act as a project liaison for any technology projects
- Establishing good relationships with all departments and colleagues.
- Work overnight technical support rotation with other team members
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
- AA in a related area or 2+ years' experience working in IT support or other relevant position. Solid understanding of working with diverse computer systems and networks. In-depth knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong systems administration skills
- Proficient with current Windows operating systems, Azure and Active Directory
- Experience with Office365 Management and Administration, Microsoft Intune, business intelligence tools, and PowerShell software development are all preferred
- Must be able to demonstrate skills through certifications and testing
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret standard scientific and technical journals, and documents
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
- Experience working collaboratively or in a team
- Must have a valid driver’s license and pass a criminal background check
- Must have home internet access with minimum 300 Gb connection speed
- Familiarity with Cisco Meraki and other networking equipment a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, and being available and responsive via email/phone/messaging
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds at times
- Travel to agency program sites and/or to meet with new vendors will be required
