Henderson Wholesale is a leading Wholesaler in Northern Ireland and supplies goods to over 450 stores across various brands such as SPAR, EUROSPAR and VIVO. We source from local farmers, growers and producers and are proud to contribute to our local economy and environment. Our Group Human Resources function is expanding as we support our growing group of companies, and we’re looking for talented individuals to join our in-house recruitment/ resourcing team.

This role will be very well suited to a candidate who is experienced in supporting hiring managers at all stages of resourcing & selection and demonstrates excellent communication & stakeholder management skills.


As Resourcing Specialist you will play a key role in providing a comprehensive, professional and customer focused resourcing service to meet current and future operational requirements and objectives, ensuring best practice and the highest levels of candidate care are maintained at all times.

You will:

  • Proactively work with hiring managers to plan for future workforce planning & resourcing needs. Understand the current and future hiring needs of your area to ensure we attract the best talent to support the business.
  • Co-ordinate the end-to end recruitment & selection process, and assist and guide hiring managers at all stages, including:
    • Drafting and placing of attractive recruitment advertisements.
    • Working closely with the Talent Acquisition Specialist to plan candidate sourcing and advertising strategies for recruitment campaigns and implementing appropriate actions to enhance candidate attraction.
    • Screening of applications and applicant shortlisting.
    • Co-ordinating and scheduling candidate interviews and selection activities.
    • Designing appropriate selection assessment methods for a wide variety of roles, ensuring fair and objective candidate assessment.
    • Developing an understanding of role types across the organisation, and tailoring approaches so optimise success in each are of the business.
    • Overseeing all arrangements for selection activities – booking venues, briefing of interview panels and preparing all relevant assessor packs for each recruitment campaign.
    • Participating as a member of selection panels for interviews and other assessment activities.
    • Ensuring adherence to company policies and statutory provisions, including those on equality of opportunity, diversity & inclusion, throughout the recruitment cycle.
    • Maintaining and updating data throughout the recruitment process using the Applicant Tracking System- Success Factors Recruiting.
    • Facilitating offers of employment through to acceptance and maintaining excellent candidate care for both successful and unsuccessful candidates.
    • Ensuring efficient and effective follow up and communication with candidates from initial contact to start date.
    • Working closely with the HR team to ensure new starter information is provided promptly and accurately.
    • Acting as a point of contact for Hiring Managers and HR Department in relation to recruitment queries.
  • Offer support and guidance (and when required, training) to managers on selection techniques and best practice relating to recruitment and selection.
  • Promote Henderson Group as an employer of choice by taking part in outreach initiatives- representing Henderson Group at events such as careers events, jobs fairs and school/ college/ community employment activities.
  • Utilise talent market insights and knowledge to shape resourcing initiatives & projects.
  • Influence employee retention by supporting an effective onboarding experience for new recruits.
  • Build and maintain relationships with both internal and external customers to the business.
  • Contribute great ideas for resourcing and process improvement.

Skills for Success


Joining us as Resourcing Specialist, the minimum criteria you’ll need is:


  • Minimum five GCSE’s (or equivalent) including English and Maths.
  • Proven track record of success working in a similar end-to-end resourcing role, including taking a lead role in selection activities, preferably from within a fast-paced commercial environment.
  • A demonstrated working knowledge of the legislative framework relating to employment and recruitment, including relevant equality law.
  • Proven knowledge of GDPR standards and procedures, ensuring confidentiality and exercising discretion and integrity throughout recruitment process.
  • An understanding of the talent market within N.I./R.O.I
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • A full, current UK driving license.

  • Ability to deliver at pace, while maintaining accuracy and great service levels.

It is desirable if you have:

  • CIPD Qualification and membership.
  • HND (or equivalent) level or above in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience of taking part in candidate outreach initiatives.
  • Previous experience of sourcing candidates across a variety of professional areas.
  • Previous working experience of Success Factors, or another digital applicant tracking system.
  • Training and experience of utilising talent assessment tools such as psychometric or other ability testing.
