We have an exciting opportunity for caring and empathetic *female colleagues with a a positive outlook on life to join us as Support Practitioners in our new Galashiels service supporting two ladies who will be moving into supported living for the first time.
We have various contracts available up to 39 hours per week.
As a Support Practitioner, you will support day to day personal needs including meal planning, cooking, housework, support to appointments and prompting with personal care and medication. The ladies have a wide range of interests that keep them busy Monday to Friday which include arts and crafts, going swimming, listening to music and cooking delicious meals amongst many others. We'll be looking to you to be enthusiastic about participating and supporting with hobbies.
Our aim is to enable the people we support to live a fulfilling and valued life, where they can achieve their own personal goals and aspirations. You will participate in the planning and delivery of person-centred care and encourage the people we support to express their views and wishes. With your help we will enable the people we support to play an active role within their local communities.
It would great if you have a driving licence however this isn't a deal breaker as the ladies also use public transport.
To be a great Support Practitioner, we will need you have the following qualities;

- Able to follow guidelines.
- Confidence in the use of technology.
We provide flexible, customer-led services that run twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, which include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, sleepovers, waking nights and public holidays and on a rota basis.
Our sleepover shifts do not form part of your contracted hours, so you will receive an additional payment of £84 for an 8 hour sleepover or £94.50 for a 9 hour sleepover. Waking nights are paid at your hourly rate with a £20 supplement per night.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy. We will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
