We're on the lookout for patient individuals who have the ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with great listening and problem solving skills to join our amazing #TeamNLCS on a permanent basis as Support Practitioners. We have 16 to 36 hour contracts available.
You don't need experience to start your career with us; we recruit on values and transferrable skills. We'll pay you for your training and give you all the practical skills you'll need. We'll even put you through your SVQ/SCQF qualification too!
The Role
As a Support Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in assisting the people we support with all aspects of daily living, including helping to prepare meals, providing personal care, shopping and domestic tasks. Our teams adopt a person-centred approach to provide the highest quality support to enable the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, with a focus on maintaining and improving independence.
The great thing about this job is no two days are ever the same and the people we support have a wide range of interest including going bowling, swimming, dancing and to their exercise classes along with more leisurely activities of gardening and arts and crafts. We'll be looking to you to be actively involved in their hobbies and support them to explore new interests. Some of the young adults we support attend college and with your help you will enable them meeting their peers.
Your support will enable individuals to not only maintain their independence and continue to live in their own home; you’ll also help them to play an active part of their community too.

Shift Patterns
As we're dedicated to provide support 7 days a week. Typically shifts are between 9am - 9pm and can vary between 6 to 8 hour according to the needs of the people we support with some sleepovers included and alternate weekends.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.
If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 6 months of starting your employment with us.
