The role:
Reporting to the Director you will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and cloud-based servers.
You'll be a key member of the team, supporting the leadership team to research, develop, continuously improve and keep up with IT business needs.
Day to day you'll provide Help Desk support by actively resolving problems and issues with Hardware, Software and Server systems to limit work disruptions within the company.
ROLE RESPONSIBILTIES
Help Desk:
- Act as the first point of contact for all employees seeking technical assistance over the phone, email or in person.
- Perform troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and questions.
- Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by the employee.
- Ensure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.
Security & Reporting:
- Run regular checks on network and data security.
- Conduct regular system audits; providing reports as required.
Best Practice:
- Develop and implement IT policy and best practice guides for the organisation.
- Design and/or identifying training solutions for employees.
- Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures (where applicable).
- Test software routinely for bugs and security issues.
Software & Hardware:
- Identify and act on opportunities to improve and update software and systems.
- Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and network servers.
- Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.
- Craft custom scripts that reduce the need for human interaction.
- Development, integration and upkeep of Design, MRP, Accounting and Monitoring software systems.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- A degree or relevant experience in computer science, IT, or engineering.
- A system or technology certifications.
- Extensive experience troubleshooting Microsoft desktop operating systems.
- Proficient in troubleshooting Microsoft Office applications.
- Good knowledge of Office365 administration and management.
- Familiarity with MS Active Directory.
- Knowledge of troubleshooting networked devices such as PCs, laptops, and printers.
- Working knowledge of Azure.
