The Position
Job Title: Apprentice IT Support Engineer
Apprenticeship Level 3 IT Support Technician
Course:
Apprenticeship 15-18 Months + EPA
Duration:
Location: Canary Wharf E14 - With travel to Southend
Working Hours: Monday – Friday 9am-5:30pm
Salary: £15,000 pa
Role and Responsibilities
This position will require you to support and build customer products/ services from building the customer equipment, configuring the network, dealing with first line support and maintenance.
Keeping customers informed of the progress of faults and maintaining supplier relationships.
Fault finding to bring issues to resolution as quickly as possible. Contributing to an on-call rota and out of hours work from time to time.
- Customer 1st line support, configuring network equipment.
- Handling and resolving customer faults.
- Relationship building.
- Supplier communication.
- Answering phone calls and helpdesk e-mails
- Contributing to the on-call rota
Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:
Must Have:
- Be Competent with Office 365 products, specifically Outlook and Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Basic understanding of networking
Desirable:
- Experience in the support of ADSL, FTTC, GPON and Ethernet connectivity
- Knowledge of 3rd party systems/ processes (TalkTalk Business, Neos Networks, BT Wholesale, Virgin Media Business, Colt, Openreach)
- Experience in configuring Cisco SMB/ Enterprise equipment.
