Location: Fulford Road, York. Requirement to work across all Customer Contract Estate as required
Contract: Full time- Monday to Friday, hours between 07:00 to 19:00
An opportunity has arisen for a Systems Support Administrator to join our Customer Contact Team in a fast-paced environment to provide a first line support service for all systems in use in the Force Control Room (FCR) and Front Enquiry Counters, Initial Enquiry Team, Crime Recording and Occurrence Management Unit.
Reporting to the Control Room Manager you will identify technical options required to assist in responding to changing operational circumstances. You will be first line support for all systems including Airwave, radios and telephony. Liaising with the IT Service Desk, you will monitor, maintain and configure all systems to be operative within the FCR and to assist with the testing, installation and implementation of new hardware and software, whilst diagnosing and resolving faults in conjunction with recording and storing this data within specified guidelines.
You will liaise with the IT Service Desk and external clients to ensure effective technical support and solutions are delivered for Control Room systems within service level agreements. You will be able to actively respond to major incidents and special events to recognise and implement technical options.
You will join at an exciting time for implementing and developing IT in relation to additional methods of contact, such as “Single on -line Home” (on- line reporting portal) and other methods of digital contact.
Further responsibilities:
Act as a single point of contact for other departments in the Force into the FCR, in particular when dealing with issues/queries/projects relating to the specific technology, operations and FCR estates.
Manage and drive forward any changes to the FCR systems.
Organise, manage, chair and develop agendas for internal/external meetings/service reviews and identifying actions and tasks for progression.
Management of Third- Party services into the FCR to ensure we get the best service possible.
The ideal candidate will be analytical, flexible and open to alternative approaches to solving problems and who plans and organises tasks effectively, taking a structured and methodical approach to achieving outcomes. Strong ability to liaise, influence, challenges effectively and builds relationships at all levels
Special Conditions:
The post holder must hold a full, clean UK driving license.
This post occasionally involves work outside normal working hours and requirement to work in different locations.
