Job description
Very excitingly we have been awarded a new contract by Cardiff Council to provide supported accommodation for to up to 24 young people aged 16/17 who will all be care experienced. We are looking for dynamic, positive, can do Support Assistants to provide these young people with a safe, positive environment where they can flourish.
Role overview:
A service that is about much more than offering young people a roof over their head. It's about giving them a safe and inclusive home and help to achieve their potential, transition into independent living, and engage in employment or education
You’ll offer day-to-day emotional and practical support to motivate and empower young people to gain independence and reach their full potential
You’ll provide support and advice in line with support plans and as requested by the young person’s keyworker, working collaboratively as part of a team who embrace differences and creative thinking
What do you need to be considered for this role?
The ability to engage and build strong positive relationships with young people.
A non-judgemental mind-set and an understanding of the impacts of homelessness, substance misuse, family breakdown, domestic abuse, and trauma
A forward-thinking, pro-active and resilient attitude
A strong character who can remain calm and collected in challenging situations
An understanding of care experienced young people and the issues they face.

Salary: £11,124.50 (part time) £22,249 (full time)
Hours: 47 hrs pw f/t and 23.5 p/t
