WHAT TO EXPECT
As a Supply Chain Specialist, you will support the development of Supply Chain inputs for future vehicle and powertrain programmes supporting business cases, feasibility studies, and inputs to programme CAPEX & OPEX spend. You will support all Industrial Operations Supply Chain & Launch Planning activities against key Programme deliverables and milestones to timing and to Programme target(s). Engagement with internal and external stakeholders to Influence future Supply Chain operations, competitive cost structure and E2E Supply Chain strategy.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Support activities in the development of vehicle and powertrain programmes for Industrial Operations Supply Chain including business cases, feasibility studies, providing supply chain costs, and solutions for future models / facilities.
- Maintain and report Supply Chain deliverables and milestones on-time and to target aligned to Product Creation and Delivery System (PCDS), relevant JLR Quality Operating Systems (QOS), and support of Commodity Creation and Delivery System (CCDS).
- Develop and maintain detailed level of Supply Chain Master data to support vehicle line programme activity, including BOM, PODS, PfEP, Supplier Sourcing & Checklists, Vehicle line CPU (£).
- Support cross functional workstreams and engage with Internal and External stakeholders, ensuring Supply Chain requirements and impacts are identified within the Life Cycle Chief structure.
- Identify vehicle line complexity and commodity reduction activities driving competitive cost opportunities through data analytics and strategic programme actions.
- Understanding of Problem-solving techniques and structured approach to issues containment and management.
- Capture and document programme lessons learnt for Supply Chain, including Design for Logistics (DfL) and Continuous Improvement (IGNITE / kaizen) workstreams.
- Support projects utilising project management techniques to support the Supply Chain strategic business objectives, including Supply Chain inputs of Vertical Integration (‘make vs buy’) and Future Global Footprint (FGF) studies and/or activity.
- Develop and maintain Supply Chain Governance metrics, including milestone reporting, project status reporting, financial reporting, risk and issue management, and Project KPI’s (metrics).
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Previous experience in a similar role within supply chain logistics with a track record of delivery.
- Methodical detailed approach to work context using project management tools and techniques.
- Analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex data and produce high standard of detailed reports and evaluations.
- Ability to present complex data & issues to a varied audience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite with a greater emphasis on experience of using Excel to provide timely and accurate data to the business.
- Experience of Problem Resolution using structured approaches and Ability to manage risks and issues.
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Have the ability to travel between sites regularly.
