Shape A Life has partnered with a secondary academy in Sunderland that is seeking Teaching Assistants for the upcoming academic year.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with children across Key Stage 3 & 4 who have various needs, including social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH).
The school is looking for individuals who love being around children, who can promote success, and who can build positive relationships.

Starting ASAP in September 2023, this will be a term-time-only position, and you will earn £427 - £452/week.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Provide teaching support in small groups and with individual pupils.
- To assist with the general pastoral care of students
- Promote positive values, attitudes, and good pupil behaviour.
- Actively encourage the inclusion of all students to participate in the life and activities of the school.
- Support the teacher with monitoring progress.
- Assisting in the planning and learning activities.
- Support pupils with their educational and social development by modelling positive behaviour and demonstrating high expectations.
- Promote and reinforce the inclusion, acceptance and integration of all pupils.

You will need:
- Passion and enthusiasm to shape the next generation.
- An interest in secondary school education or SEN.
- Degree - 2:2 or above. Any subject ( Psychology would be advantageous)
- Have high expectations of teaching and learning.
- Ability to relate well to pupils and adults.
- To be a positive role model
- Be keen to develop as a professional
