Job description
Who we are: -
Dawson & Sanderson was founded in November 1962 by our chairman Thomas Dawson who had a vision to create a one stop shop where all holiday and travel needs could be met with reasonably priced package holidays and discounted worldwide airfares in the North East of England.
Tom began by creating strong relationships with airlines, hoteliers, tour companies and travel suppliers and negotiated discounts by promising huge passenger volume and expansion. Travel suppliers supported this brave venture and Dawson & Sanderson Travel was launched with a single branch in Ashington, Northumberland.
Such was the success of the business that Dawson & Sanderson expanded into further locations by opening more high street branches and a flight centre. Our reputation for unbeatable airfares resulted in other travel agencies buying flights from us.
The business grew to become one of the leading independent travel agencies in the UK through our excellent reputation and today the company has 21 high street branches, a thriving corporate travel division, a foreign exchange business, and a golf course.
The company remains a family-owned business, employing over 200 staff, with Tom Dawson as chairman supported by the company directors, which include members of the Dawson family.
We are proud of our success in the region and within the travel industry. Dawson & Sanderson have won many accolades. These include Travel Agent of the Year for the North and Midlands at Travel
Weekly’s prestigious annual awards, Jet2 Holidays top selling agent from Newcastle Airport and our apprenticeship scheme has previously won a north east Business Award, recognising our commitment to providing bespoke training and employment opportunities to young persons in the region and our considerable investment into recruitment and training.
Our customer care is second to none and our Platinum award from Feefo, which is based on independent customer reviews, are a testament to our colleagues who put their heart and soul into their work ensuring our clients remain at the centre of all that we do.
