Salary: circa £27,000 depending on experience

Bakkavor is the leading provider of fresh prepared food in the UK, which is one of the most advanced, innovative and dynamic food markets in the world.
Our Meals site in Boston (Old Leake) is looking to recruit a Supply Chain Section Leader to manage a small logistics team, reporting into the Logistics Section Manager. The site employs over 700 people and specialises in making chilled Italian ready meals and modern deli products for a dedicated customer.
The Role
In this busy, exciting and hands on role, you will pro-actively manage and motivate a small logistics team in the Despatch area, overseeing stock rotation, loading and picking. You’ll provide direction to ensure all operatives in their area are correctly deployed and are performing to standards in health and safety, food safety and good manufacturing practices.
As Logistics Section Leader you will manage and control the finished goods stock, all materials handling equipment and transport within their area. You will also need to manage improvement activities including KPIs, waste management and production control processes and associated administration and record keeping.
A key part of the role will be to maintain all stock systems within your area of control to ensure stock takes and reconciliation are conducted in a timely fashion and all systems are accurate and up to date.
About you
To be successful in this role you will need to be a positive and motivated team player that possesses strong leadership skills. Ideally you will have previous experience within logistics and warehouse, and it is beneficial to already be IOSH trained.
Communication skills are key to this role as well as having good IT skills for administrative duties as and when needed. Building strong relationships with other areas of the business is important as you will liaise with them on a day-to-day basis, particularly the materials and planning department.
