The Vacancy

We have a new opportunity for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead on implementing the Wates MEP Supply Chain Strategy for our London and South region, supporting the preconstruction and delivery teams with close management of supply chain relationships, ensuring that the processes are managed effectively in order to maximise value and opportunity and manage risk.


Key Accountabilities also include:


  • Maximise value through defining and leading clear strategy and opportunities for aggregation by considering product/ programme/ business opportunities
  • Effective management of a robust supply chain database that supports our business requirements
  • Select suppliers using a structured business-based comparison (commercial/ operations) to generate a shortlist and recommendations
  • Make decisions based on findings, business to business plans and market understanding
  • Gain a detailed understanding of offering from the supply chain against Wates strategic targets including mutual business benefits
  • Report on performance and strategic information and metrics to Business leaders.
  • Understand supplier product and performance against Wates strategic CSR


We are looking for
you to have worked in similar roles, which has given you a solid understanding of the construction & MEP market, a breadth of knowledge of the Supply Chain across London and the South East and proven track record of building strong relationships internally and with external supply chain.


To be successful in the role
you will commercially focused and be confident in taking the lead whilst demonstrating a flexible partnership approach, working collaboratively with key areas of the business to ensure success.
