About the Job
Working as part of our Automotive Supply Chain Team within UL, you will proactively plan and lead engagement with the client to drive improvements which deliver the optimal performance and excellent customer service. Forming a strong relationship and taking a leadership role with our prestige automotive client and the wider team, to develop forecasting and reporting tools which support the client and the Supply Chain Team. You will also lead and drive improvement activity and projects across the breadth of the supply chain.

As part of your key responsibilities you’ll:
Develop and improve working relationships and enhance business growth opportunities with the client - this will involve daily contact with the client either by phone, email, or face to face up to director level- Review and improve business processes, demand forecasting and customer service levels.
- Troubleshooting and deep root cause analysis – understanding the inner workings of SAP, forecasting and planning tools and driving system improvements and digital solutions
- Understand best in class approaches to supply chain, forecasting and inventory planning and apply to current practise in driving improvements
- Developing business cases and reporting packs to support improvement
- Present high quality project analysis and business cases to the customer using PowerPoint and Excel, face to face and over online conferencing platforms
- Working with the finance team to develop inventory and working capital forecasting models
- Updating existing off-line analysis tools to the latest technology available from SAP / Business Objects / Unipart Digital
- Review and maintain inventory policies to support accurate schedules with inventory levels that optimise cost, space and efficiency - including the review of product, inventory profiles and parameters and demand trends to improve customer service levels
- Make stock / de stock recommendations to the client for UK and Global warehouses
- Develop and where possible automate daily reports for team and client
- Enhance reporting availability and usage to drive KPI improvement
- Develop supply chain effectiveness metrics, report regularly on supply chain performance, utilise the metrics and evaluate past performance data to forecast business needs
- Lead inventory planning and scheduling activity throughout the product lifecycle – new model introduction, volume series production, legacy and model run out
- Lead cross-functional projects and initiatives to deliver Customer change requirements whilst working within the Unipart / client processes and ways of working
- Support and lead cross functional activity, reporting and projects within the Unipart Aftersales Team, potentially leading projects in customer service, operations, freight, and compliance as required
- Management of inventory analysts whose focus will be weekly inventory system (URS) admin, ABC velocity forecast remodelling programme and replenishment of global warehouses
- Driving use of the Unipart Way methodologies to create a culture of continuous improvement
