Supply Chain Co-ordinator - Oldham

Park Cakes is a c£180 million business which supplies cake and desserts to service the own brands of major retailers.

Our products include, high end celebration cake products, slab cakes and mainstream desserts, we mostly supply Marks & Spencer’s although we also supply major retailers including Sainsbury’s, Tesco’s and Morrisons.

Park Cakes is a profitable business with a clear commercial strategy and a strong relationship with its customers and suppliers through its energy, style and commitment to partner relationships and quality.

We currently have a vacancy to work as a Supply Chain Co-ordinator working directly for our Supply Chain Manager.

Example Accountabilities for this role are as follows: -

  • Interrogating information on systems and reports in preparation for contacting customers to agree volume we can supply
  • Build a working relationship with customers by phone to influence the rephasing of supply of our products
  • Update and input information to SAP to ensure forecasts are up to date
  • Liaise with Planners to make sure they are aware of changes in supply plans, launches etc
  • Advising customers of service figures and working with them to ensure service targets are met
  • Checking raw materials /packaging against supply and resolving any concerns with production with internal departments
  • Ad hoc duties to support the Planning Team

Ideal Attributes and Experience:

  • We do not require previous experience working in Supply Chain environments, but you must possess excellent communication skills both over the phone and in person
  • Self-motivated and confident
  • Able to work in a fast moving dynamic environment
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Some understanding of SAP and Microsoft Office programmes would be preferable
  • Problem solving with strong and decisive decision making

Hours: Monday to Friday from 7am or earlier to 4pm.

Location: This role is on site in Oldham (not home working).

Package: Competitive Salary dependent upon experience, 25 days a year plus 8 statutory bank holiday, Money purchase pension scheme with contribution of salary
