Profile

Supply Chain & Procurement (P&SC) is a core, strategic function of the QinetiQ business, enabling the organisation to win business and influence profitability. As a function, we have an impressive footprint across the breadth of QinetiQ. This provides an excellent platform to develop key commercial skills, as well as build a robust network of relationships across a wide variety of both internal and external stakeholders.

The function is made up of seven pillars; ranging from the manufacturing of novel and innovative products, to the procurement of critical goods and services that enables QinetiQ to deliver its operations. We support both the winning of new business and successful execution of critical programmes.

Graduate Programme

The aim of this two year programme is to help you develop the core skills necessary to begin your career journey in P&SC with QinetiQ. We will help you create sustainable procurement strategies, executed through the identification of suitable suppliers, competing opportunities, negotiating and placing contracts, along with managing relationships through-life. You will actively contribute to the company’s mission of protecting lives and securing the vital interests of our customers.

Duties & Responsibilities

Developing unique supply chains that differentiate QinetiQ and secures strategically vital business

Drafting and negotiating advantageous contracts, leaning on experts within the company

Leading supplier assurance activities to maintain QinetiQ’s exemplary reputation

Developing enduring relationships both internally and externally; positively influencing outcomes and challenging ideas

Driving forward the development of innovative new products from concept through to production

Creating policy that influences the company’s approach on topics like social value within our supply chain

QinetiQ will enable you to:
Develop a robust understanding of Supply Chain & Procurement Best Practice

Determine the best way for our customers to exploit novel and emerging technologies

Develop commercial expertise whilst gaining a unique and wider insight into other functions (like finance, project management, strategy, service management, business development)

Gain access to training to develop your commercial and leadership skills, underpinned by industry recognised professional qualification - Chartered Institute for Procurement & Supply.

Gain the opportunity to support community projects, for example environmental initiatives

Entry Requirements

To apply for the role you MUST meet the following criteria;

Have attained, or are about to attain a 2:1 degree in Supply Chain Management or a Business Degree with an interest in Supply Chain Management

Be willing to learn, and have demonstrated an aptitude for learning at pace

Have a keen interest in developing a professional network within the company and industry

Be interested in supporting extra-curricular activities aimed at unlocking the functions future ambitions
