Supplier Relationship Lead - Supply Chain & Logistics (2yrs FTC)

Our amazing Supplier Relationship Leads work closely with the Supplier Relationship Manager to deliver supplier governance, process creation and management whilst also providing assistance and contractual insight for Sainsburys business stakeholders.
The role supports the execution of our strategic contract management capability to deliver supplier performance, continuous improvement, value and first to market innovation. You will be a key contact for Sainsbury’s with the opportunity to manage suppliers and enhance the relationships to influence and drive supplier strategy and direction to strengthen our market position. Developing strong connections with internal Sainsbury’s business stakeholders and 3rd party logistics suppliers will be key in ensuring we are performing to requirements and expectation as well as identifying where Sainsburys Business Services can add value.
What you Need to Know & Show:
- Experience in working as part of a cross-functional team and influencing others to land business change.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, able to influence a range of stakeholders and build trusted relationships across our organisation and 3rd party logistics service providers.
- Maintaining and improving supplier performance: understand how suppliers are performing, working with the Supplier Relationship Manager to address supplier performance issues and contribute to supplier continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong Microsoft software packages skills including Excel & PowerPoint (essential)
- Comfortable making decisions based on incomplete data and information in the absence of clear frameworks and guidance to operate from.
- Interpret stakeholder needs to develop processes which will enable optimal running of the contract(s)
- Highly organised and demonstration of good prioritisation
- First rate written and verbal communication skills.
