Job description
Role Purpose
- Supplier Management for Global Operations is responsible for third party risk, supplier performance, and strategic supplier management.
- The Cost & Supplier Management Lead will lead the development and execution of major global cost reduction programmes, including first generation outsourcing, with responsibility for identifying opportunities, completing detailed discovery, managing the RFP and contracting process, business case development, and leading the implementation phase.
- By leveraging initial efforts to introduce some consistency to supplier management, the role holder will work with colleagues across global businesses, functions, procurement, risk, and compliance to devise and deliver a balanced and measurable approach to how executes its Supplier Management activities.
- The job holder will bring best Supplier Management market practices to bear at , delivering a step change in Supplier Management.
- The successful candidate will work within the Supplier Management team – developing and implementing Global Operation’s supplier management strategy, building on our supplier management capability with colleagues across Global Operations and Lines of Business.
- The role reports functionally to the Head of Supplier Management and the job holder will need to drive improvements in management and transparency of supplier cost management, providing supplier management support and direction to domain colleagues who are themselves driving Transformation change, maximizing the value that realises from third party suppliers in line with business, regulatory and control requirements.
- The successful candidate will need to have a strong supplier cost management background with a mix of change management, project management and analytical capabilities. The role holder will be supporting complex projects and have the communication skills to represent externally and internally with senior stakeholders.
Knowledge and Experience / Qualifications
- Relevant eduational qualification in accordance with local requirements
- Relevant experience in Cost Management or Supplier Management or in a directly related business/function
- Relevant experience of successfully managing significant transformation activity for supplier / contract / cost management
- A solid understanding of cost management best practices
- A good understanding of the business services provided within Operations, the goods / services, third parties and contracts used, how they support the business operation.
- Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail combined with a strong delivery focus and ability to meet aggressive timeframes with quality results
- Excellent planning, organizing skills including project management capability
- Strong influencing / coaching skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
