Operations Supervisor - Belfast
Shift = Weekend (3 x 12 hour days)
Shift allowance applies
Summary
Supervise Production within the Site across the weekend shift, with a focus on Manufacturing Quality, efficiency, and Customer Satisfaction. The role ensures that products are manufactured in accordance with the Quality standards expected of a Class 3 Medical Device. Leads Manufacturing Excellence and more complex change initiatives across the business.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Plan and manage the day-to-day allocation of resources (equipment, people, materials and systems) in order to efficiently, safely and cost effectively achieve production targets
Responsible to ensure daily achievement of targets and report variances during on the floor and off floor business review meetings
Coach, mentor and develop team members to meet current and future business requirements
Champion and lead change initiatives and continuous improvement efforts, including lean and continuous improvement.
Create and maintain a safe and positive work environment.
Lead and participate in cross functional and cross divisional process improvement initiatives – communicate and participate in system and process troubleshooting with support team members and with external agents.
Manage Operations HR duties in a timely and professional manner.
Utilise capacity planning tools to align customer requests with plant capability.
Provide an excellent level of customer service with clear communication.
Lead the Management for Daily Improvement process
Lead Operations recruitment of additional team members.
Manage people to effectively operate in accordance with work instructions and procedures
Manage growth, evaluate and deploy a range of continuous improvement and lean techniques to optimise Production performance
Deliver against customer expectations of quality and Lead Time Performance
Utilise a root cause, problem solving methodology in the investigation of non-conforming processes or products observed in the operations and stores areas
Owner of NC/CAPA
And: Any other duties deemed necessary by Management
Required Qualifications:
GSCE: Grade C or above in Maths and English
Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications/Experience:
Continuous improvement or process improvement experience. Green belt or black belt certification preferred.
Experience
5 years’ Experience within a Manufacturing Supervisory role
Previous supervisory experience in Medical Device manufacturing desirable
Specific Knowledge:
Knowledge of Manufacturing and Quality systems in a Manufacturing Environment
ISO:9001 and ISO:13485
System/Computer Requirements:
Microsoft Office, SAP or equivalent ERP system
