This is a trailblazing service with an opportunity to develop the service ensuring the voice of children, young people and their families and education colleagues are heard to find new and innovative ways of working to best meet their needs. The client groups include primary aged children, those in secondary and local colleges and parents/carers.

Role Description

You will be responsible for providing case management and clinical supervision to the trainee and/or qualified Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) and CWPs. Trainees will be undertaking their placements within the team, as they are being trained to deliver group and individual low intensity CBT interventions to children and young people provided by the Anna Freud Centre. You will support these trainees who require weekly 1:1 supervision to develop their competencies as MH practitioners for children and young people (CYP).

You will also be expected to deliver evidence-based 1:1 and group interventions, employing the principles underpinning the national CYP-IAPT programme (Children and Young People’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies).

Low intensity, early intervention will be delivered in a range of education settings (primary, secondary, special, alternative provision, sixth form and further education colleges). This will include delivering interventions for CYP and parents/carers in education settings, providing training for education professionals and developing the team’s ability to serve the needs of education settings.
