We are seeking a full time Supervising Social Worker for the Fostering Supervisory Team at Barnsley

Key duties of the role include:

Candidates need to have experience of supervising Local Authority Foster Carers and have a full understanding of the Fostering Regulations, legal compliance and Fostering panel functions.

• The role will involve holding responsibility supporting and supervising fostering households.
• You will be actively involved in fostering assessment using Coram Baaf Form f assessment whilst encompassing the secure base model.
• The candidate will also assist with recruitment activity and screening of potential applicant carers.
• This position is held within our Assessment and Recruitment Team for Mainstream foster carers.
• The successful candidate will support the drive of recruitment of foster carers in Manchester and will complete enquiries and initial visits alongside assessment work.

Essential Requirements:

• Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
• At least 2 years experience as a social worker within childrens services
• Social Work England Registration
• Driving license and access to own vehicle
