We are recruiting for a Superintendent Radiographer who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
As part of the clinical leadership team this individual will act as a clinical expert and operational lead for one of the defined service areas within the department.
Mount Vernon Cancer Centre (MVCC) is one of Europe’s leading and largest cancer treatment centres. Clinical radiotherapy equipment comprises of seven linear accelerators including fourTruebeam units with image guidance technology and volumetric arc therapy (RapidArc) capabilities. All treatments are delivered using image guided radiotherapy (IGRT) and treatments such as intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) and RapidArc are standard for most patients.
In addition the centre houses the UK’s first NHS based Cyberknife machine providing a comprehensive stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SABR) programme. A High Dose Rate (HDR) brachytherapy suite is also situated at the cancer centre with a dedicated magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner. The pre-treatment suite consists of integrated computed tomography (CT) imaging.
The Radiotherapy department is operational 7 days a week including bank holidays. External beam radiotherapy is routinely delivered between 8am-9pm Monday - Friday.

To act as a clinical expert covering all treatment and pre-treatment units of the Centre as required.
To partake in technical lead in new technologies and developments
To be a member of the departmental management team maintaining responsibilities for department management, education, R&D, technical practice development, and quality. The post holder is required to be a specialist in at least one of the above.
To act as an expert in the field of clinical radiotherapy.
To lead a radiotherapy unit as and when required.
To be available to take a lead in the selection, design and commissioning of new equipment.

In addition, you will receive a High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of your basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £4,314 and a maximum payment of £5,436 per annum pro rata.
