Job description
We need volunteers to support the staff in the summer scheme to provide a stimulating and caring environment for the children and young people. To encourage the children to try new experiences and have fun during their summer break.
The Mencap summer scheme is run in partnership with the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust during July and August. The scheme is run on Monday to Friday between 08.30am until 4.30pm. The ideal commitment from a volunteer is a minimum of 1 week.
About the team:
The Children, Young People and Families team delivers activities for children and young people with a learning disability and their families. This includes the early years’ service, summer schemes and several programmes such as HEROES, Transform, and the Youth Inclusion Hub.

- Some knowledge of disability or issues that are relevant to children and young people with a learning disability/learning, behavioural or communication difficulty
