Monkhouse prides itself on getting children back to school in uniform that gives them the confidence to start their academic year and you will play a pivotal role in making this happen by supporting our valued customers through our busiest period of the year June to September.

So let’s take you through everything about the job itself.
What’s the job? At Monkhouse ‘service is everything’ and your job will be to service our customers to a high standard. Practically this means taking care of our customers from when they enter the store to when they walk out. Don’t worry, we will provide you with plenty of training around this and our products and we will buddy you up with an experienced assistant for the first couple of days to help settle you in. Once you know this, the rest of the job is just about a big smile and using a good conversation with customers.
Other tasks will include general support with stock management.
At Monkhouse working as a team is critical to getting the job. So, we are all in it together and from time to time we support our colleagues in their task wherever needed.
What are my hours? Our contracts range from 8 hours to a maximum of 40 hours per week and our seasonal shifts are Monday to Sunday. (Overtime available).
When can I start? Our peak season starts from June through to mid-September so you can start anytime from May onwards, finishing in August/mid-September.
What's my location? We are located in Cheltenham with excellent public transport links and the option of storing your bike inside the store securely.
Our team. Every store has a dedicated manager that you will be reporting to and alongside you, there will be shop sales assistants who have past experience but also new assistants who are joining for the first time.
Holidays. Your holiday entitlement is 28 days per annum including bank holidays, pro-rated to your hours of work and pro-rated to your term of employment. These accrued hours will be paid at the end of your contract.
