Are you a degree student looking for a paid summer Intern role? We're currently looking for curious, motivated and enthusiastic degree students to join our paid summer internship programme, taking place between June and September 2023, on a 10 – 12-week internship. As an Intern, you'll have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the vibrant Retail Insurance industry and develop valuable skills, whilst contributing to the success of our business transformation.
It's an exciting time to join the team here at AXA Retail with significant investment and digital development planned right across the business. We provide insurance to individual customers, helping them protect what matters, for us that's their homes and cars. It's an exciting market, becoming more and more digital and highly competitive.
We have a real variety of roles, in various locations across our Retail Insurance business. You'll be aligned to a team and enabled to work with colleagues on live projects that will have a real business impact. You'll be able to state which you're most interested in from the below list in your application:
CEO Office – London - Get to see how our biggest decisions are made by supporting some of the CEO office priorities and juggling multiple projects. Attention to detail, communication skills and independence will be needed here and will be developed further by the end of the internship.
Transformation - London – Here the opportunity is the exposure to the whole of the Retail business and how we are making changes to our customers' journeys, simpler, more digital, more individual. Planning, organizing and communication skills will be important, along with agility to manage multiple deliverables.
Data & Analytics – London - Data is the foundation of everything we do. Here you'll gain exposure to our data and analytics platforms, so an analytical mind is needed along with an appetite to understand and communicate data. You'll develop stakeholder management and presentation skills.
Intermediary – Ipswich - 58% of our Retail business comes from Partners and Brokers. Here you'll learn more about these insurance products and more specifically supporting a project, gaining experience in insurance compliance and regulations and understanding how this marketplace works.
Finance – London or Ipswich - Our finance business partner team ensure our business remains on track to deliver our yearly financial targets. You'll support various financial tasks, such as data entry, financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, and administrative support. Your responsibilities may evolve based on team needs and your areas of interest.
Customer & Product Development – London or Ipswich - Crafting and evolving our product shelf to meet our ever-changing customer needs is at the heart of our business. You'll play a vital role in supporting the team's efforts to enhance customer experiences and develop new products. This may involve conducting market research, analysing customer data, assisting with product development projects, supporting customer relationship management initiatives, assisting with customer feedback analysis, and providing general administrative support.
During the internship you'll:
- Get real work experience that will complement your university studies.
- Deepen your knowledge and understanding of the insurance industry.
- Learn from experienced insurance professionals who will be on hand to support and encourage you every step of the way.
- Help you to grow your network within AXA and build business and interpersonal skills that will be useful in your future career, hopefully with us!

You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, at one of our office locations. A typical example consists of 2 days per week in the office, and 3 days per week from home, this may vary between teams, you can discuss this with your Manager. As such, you'll need to live within a commutable distance of your offered location. That way you'll get to spend time with your team in person as well as virtually and get access to the right support networks internally to help you to succeed.
Application closure: The deadline for applications is Tuesday 2nd May 2023.
Please note: There will be a further selection process for shortlisted candidates.
