About us: Destiny Student operates summer tourist accommodation in student buildings in cities around the UK & Ireland and have done for many years. We are a highly respected company in this sector and are known for our high standards throughout our business. Destiny Student provides value for money accommodation and friendly service to our customers. We occupy the buildings for the three months of summer and provide a pop up hotel/hostel service to tens of thousands of guests each year. We will also provide training for staff onsite so you will get hands on experience.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
The role covers all the aspects of the Receptionist responsibilities;
· you will be responsible for ensuring all of your team are delivering this consistently, and coaching and empowering them to do so successfully.
· You will produce their rotas, be their line manager and their first point of call for any queries they have.
· You will also help to manage the housekeeping.
· Ensuring our guests have a great stay and that all of the elements of our product are present for this to happen
· checking guests in and out,
· you are present at peak times and leading your team & any external companies
· your team are motivated to provide great customer service to our guests at all times
· your team are motivated to hit sales targets for tours and products for the benefit of our guests
· all revenue streams are monitored and maximised and the team trained and managed to do this
· cash/card payments and collections are accurate and timely
· responding to and solving complicated or escalated requests, phone calls, emails and reviews
· Banking and cash collection is completed to company policy.
· Overseeing of setting up the building ready for customers arrival at the beginning of the summer, putting in kitchen equipment, duvets, pillows, information posters and other items. You will also assist in removing these items at the end of the season.
Caring for the building
· ensuring all health & safety policies are adhered to and made to be part of the working day.
· ensuring the keys are all accounted for
· maintenance items reported have been carried out
· reporting any malicious damage, and being the building point of contact for this
· ensuring your building, rooms, entrance area and common areas are tidy and clean for our guests.
· ensuring the housekeeping reports are accurate and the cleaning supervisor is directed appropriately
· monitoring cleaning team’s progress and standards of cleanliness, reporting future occupancy levels to ensure enough cleaners are onsite.
· closely manage linen deliveries and stock by keeping accurate records.
· Managing all costs associated with your building within given targets
Person specification:
· In addition to the requirements for Reception team members, managers will also be required:
· To be charismatic and strong leaders of small teams.
· Proven ability in a similar previous role, though perhaps as a supervisor and this is a step to manager
· Ability to lead from the front and by example
· Be able to see their team and product from a guest’s perspective
· Be able to communicate at senior level with many different parties – guests, Destiny Student team members, head office team, building maintenance teams, cleaning company team members, Destiny management etc.
· Strong IT skills, with software and also infrastructure
· You will have control over your building and will be given all the support you need to ensure a successful summer.
