For every week of tuition that a student studies with us, we give a week of education to underprivileged people from where our students are recruited. We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic summer staff to deliver successful experiences for our students.
Bournemouth - 18th June to 11th August (training may be provided before)
Position Summary
The activity leader takes groups of students on cultural and educational visits and is expected to provide information at points of interest in accessible language for the students, give students tasks and learning opportunities on excursions, ensure the welfare and safety of the group and provide a fun, engaging and exciting experience for our students visiting the UK. We also offer 2 weekly evening activities led by our activity leaders. We aim to have a mix of fun and educational activities and these can include discos, quiz nights, talent shows and sports among many other things.
Key duties & responsibilities
The Activity Leader role at Bayswater Summer has core responsibility for:
- Leading groups of students aged 10+ on activities and trips
- Collecting groups on arrival at airports
- Delivering relevant and interesting information on tours, trips, and activities
- Ensuring safety and welfare of students whilst on trips and activities
The nature of the role may require the candidate to work unsociable hours (weekends/evenings/bank holidays) - they will likely work up to 6 days a week with 1 day off on the weekend.
Responsibilities & Tasks
- Familiarising yourself with the campus, attractions, and amenities around the town.
- Liaising with the team of Bayswater Summer staff at the centre, and developing a friendly and co-operative atmosphere.
- Assisting with student arrivals, conducting a tour of the campus, and helping with student departures as required by the Centre Manager.
- Cooperating with teachers for themed nights and any required activity organized by the school.
- Cooperating with group leaders who are accompanying students on activities and excursions.
- Supervising, leading, and participating fully in afternoon and evening activities, as led by the Activity Manager.
- Organising and participating fully in daytime activities and excursions.
- Ensuring you have all the necessary information to lead excursions and give informative talks both on the coach and when walking around.
- Counting all students on and off coaches, in and out of attractions and reporting any problems immediately to the Activity Manager.
- Sufficiently preparing and researching excursions and activities in order to deliver the most informative and organised product to students and group leaders.
- Ensuring that the company’s health and safety guidelines are followed, both on campus and when students are on off-site excursions.
- Wearing the Bayswater Summer uniform provided.

Salary and Benefits
- Salary of £10.5 per hour - hourly or fixed rates 40 or 48 hours (Full time, part time or zero hour contracts available)
