What you'll work on
Our London Based client is looking for someone with comprehensive Housing Benefit knowledge and assessment experience to join our team. This is an important role in helping make sure that Housing Benefit subsidy is maximised and that it is correctly awarded.
As Subsidy Officer you will be involved in testing and reconciling Housing Benefit awards for our external auditors, this involves carrying out in-depth validation, verification, and reconciliation of cases selected for the Subsidy audit. You must be confident in your knowledge of Housing Benefit legislation, procedures and the Academy system to deal with complex claims and undertake the reviews for audit purposes.

- The rate for this role is £25.53 per hour Umbrella
- The role is until 11/06/2023 initially
What we're looking for
- You will also assist in identifying and correcting system and user discrepancies in benefit awards.
- You will also work on collating statistical data for senior managers and completing statutory returns for DWP and other agencies.
- You must have extensive knowledge and experience of both Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction, and an excellent understanding of the legislation for these schemes.
- You must also have experience handling complex information and reconciling internal and external systems for audit. You will also need a solid understanding of a variety of IT systems including Academy and Civica and be a proficient Excel/Google sheets user.
- You should have good communication skills and be able to respond to queries with professionalism and sensitivity. This can be a challenging and pressurised environment and you will need to be able to manage and prioritise your workload.
