Studio Manager Job description
We are a rapidly growing video production agency with offices in Shoreham-by-Sea and London. As part of the next phase of expansion, we are searching for a Studio Manager to join our team.
You will join a team that works with some of the world's most recognisable brands in the Formula 1, Golf, Formula E, Football, and Esports sectors that include Hilton, SAP, Pirelli, Casio, and McLaren, to name a few.
We predominantly create web and social content - mostly short form that is between 15s - 3 minutes and deliver key messages within a short story-driven style that is impactful and engaging.
Role
We are looking for an individual wanting to further their career in production or management. Ideally, you will be a proactive self-starter who is highly organised and flexible, a strong communicator and works well in a busy environment with demanding clients. A candidate will be eager to grow to be a key member of the company.
You will be responsible for the effective management and smooth running of the post-production team. As a first point of contact for the team, you will inspire, motivate and drive the editors and motion graphics artists, ensuring they all understand their responsibilities and expectations. Supporting the post-production team is vital to ensure client’s experience and service requests are handled in a courteous and efficient manner. A passion for people management and their development is essential to lead the team into success.
Reporting to the Content Director and Operations Director, the Studio Manager will coordinate the day to day running of our editing team ensuring the multiple projects they work on are scheduled, tracked, on budget and delivered on time. You will be helping oversee, support and manage the delivery of all video projects.
Key responsibilities
- Clearly communicating the client and project needs to the post-production team to ensure that the work meets the agreed brief.
- Coordinating all assets required for the delivery of the project
- Creating and implementing deadlines, project goals, expectations and workflows, to ensure a smooth production process with on-time delivery
- Run stand-ups and weekly reviews to ensure each team member is on track as required
- Identifying and resolving potential blocks and issues
- Deliver high quality product on time and within budget
- Anticipate and respond to needs and requests from clients
- Supervise additional staff and external partners during video production
- Ensure all projects are on schedule
- Identify best practices for video and evolve daily operations as necessary
Key skills
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge and understanding of shooting and editing videos and the whole production life-cycle advantageous
- Excellent organisation, planning, and communication skills
- A collaborative mindset and ability to work with varying and changing needs
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Experience of project management software such as Asana preferred but not required
