Studio Assistant, LBC (up to 12 Months FTC)

Working Hours
16-20 hours per week: Monday – Thursday (4/5pm – 9pm)
Overview of job
This role greets presenters and guests into our LBC Millbank studios. This role requires the successful candidate to be well-mannered, approachable, and professional at all times. This role will interact not only with our guests and presenters, but with our LBC and security team to ensure company standards are followed at all times.
Although this role is primarily a meet and greet role, this role will provide the successful candidate with the perfect opportunity to learn about producing a radio show while presenters and guests are on-air. This includes tips and tricks from tech operatives, producers and sound designers and is a great steppingstone into the world of broadcasting and content and therefore a curiosity about radio and news is crucial!

Measures of success –
In the first few months, you would have:
Be able to confidently meet and greet visitors and provide assistance where needed.
Perform a range of admin duties such as, book rooms, manage several excel spreadsheets, and update shared documents.
Take ownership of booking event related activities in house, and effectively communicate between departments to update the events that commence on site.
Responsibilities of the role
You’ll be part of a team that is responsible for the efficient day to day running of the Millbank LBC studios
Meeting and greeting a vast mix of visitors and guests into the building
You’ll be taking calls over the phone; a friendly, professional and welcoming approach is crucial.
You’ll need to ensure that all front of house areas are kept tidy, free from obstructions, and set up to standard
You will be requested to perform various admin duties, for example monitoring security passes issued daily
You will be working with the team in the use of our Envoy visitor management system, assisting guests to sign in, as well as ensuring the NDA is signed unless agreed otherwise by senior members of Global
Responsible for setting the Wi-Fi Passwords daily
What will you need
The ideal candidate will be proactive and willing to develop and implement innovative solutions, capable of the following:
Previous front of house experience is preferable, but not vital
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft programmes, such as Excel and Word, and confident on a Mac laptop
Strong administrative abilities, and able to work independently whilst using your initiative.
You should have a professional telephone manner, and have outstanding customer service with staff and guests
Curiosity about the production of radio shows and news
You’ll need to have health and safety knowledge and strive to follow all our policies around keeping people safe
