The Opportunity
The University's Marketing, Communications and Student Recruitment department is responsible for raising the profile and actively promoting Cardiff Met locally, nationally and internationally. We deliver strategic communications, brand, marketing and student recruitment activities to ensure a consistent One Cardiff Met approach across all internal and external activity that aligns with the University’s values, behaviours and strategic objectives. We are a forward thinking, innovative and creative professional department with extensive experience across all areas and a commitment to developing individuals and ensuring maximum impact is gained from all marketing and external relations activities.
This is a key post that will contribute to the ambitions of the University’s new Strategic Plan 2030. To be actively involved in the delivery of student recruitment promotional initiatives in order to fulfill the unit’s strategic aims and objectives and student recruitment targets.
What you'll do
- Create and manage new and existing relationships with key feeder schools and colleges within a specified geographical area in order to increase applications to the university. To build a targeted comms plan to your geographical area.
- Design and deliver a creative and informative menu of Higher Education awareness presentations to increase applications to Cardiff Metropolitan University.
- Generate and manage bookings and deliver a series of presentations in feeder schools and colleges to include the higher education process, personal statements and finance.
- Proactively input into and deliver the student recruitment annual communications plan to all schools and colleges in the UK. To design and build a series of promotional e-newsletters to schools and colleges to raise awareness of Cardiff Metropolitan University’s profile.
- Design, organise and deliver a series of higher education awareness on campus recruitment events to increase applications to Cardiff Metropolitan University in line with the strategic growth target.
What we are looking for
- Highly knowledgeable in higher education, the post holder will need to be extremely familiar with Cardiff Mets programme of courses and all other direct and non-direct routes to Higher Education.
- Proven experience in presenting to audiences of all sizes and the ability and skillset to adapt the content and tone of delivery depending upon the audience. Creative with a passion for helping to reach a student’s full potential by explaining and promoting HE opportunities and Cardiff Met’s offering both off and on campus.
- Highly organised and efficient, the post holder will often work in schools and colleges therefore the ability to be organised and prepared is paramount.
