To support our ambitious plans to grow and diversify our overseas student intake over the coming years we are seeking a dynamic and creative individual to join our International Recruitment Team.
The Role
- Develop, deliver and evaluate recruitment activities in a portfolio of overseas markets
- Work effectively with a range of internal stakeholders; sharing market knowledge and contributing to close partnership working in international recruitment with student marketing, recruitment and admissions colleagues
- Manage a suite of cross cutting projects
- Foster close working relationships with key faculty colleagues, sharing market intelligence and insight
We would particularly welcome applicants with strong experience of recruiting students from one or more of, Japan, South Korea, UK International and South East Asia. We are keen to attract candidates with strong digital marketing skills.
International Recruitment sits within the International Development Division, an integral part of the University's Directorate for the Student Experience. The Division is responsible for supporting academic Schools and Faculties in identifying and attracting the highest calibre of students into all levels of study.
Criteria for Success
A full job description can be found attached. The key desired skills and attributes for this role are:
- A strong track record of experience in managing overseas recruitment to UK Higher Education in multiple overseas markets
- An ability to think strategically and to take a pro-active approach in order to optimise recruitment opportunities in specific markets
- Strong analytical and data handling skills
- Experience of working flexibly within and across institutional teams
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity
- Ability to communicate with a wide variety of audiences
- Strong understanding of opportunities and challenges in key international recruitment markets (preferably in Japan, South Korea, UK International and South East Asia)
- Excellent relationship management skills with stakeholders such as recruitment agencies and schools
- Willingness to work independently and flexibly to achieve team objectives
- Experience of using digital media/channels in international marketing
Significant overseas travel will form a key part of this position and a flexible approach to working patterns is therefore required.
