The Student Lifecycle team works alongside the Student Records team, setting up programme and module records for all of UCL on the SITS information system. Together the teams ensure that all students’ records are set up and maintained within relevant regulatory frameworks throughout their time at UCL. The Student Lifecycle team works closely with Faculties and Departments to ensure appropriate processes are in place to maintain these records from enrolment to graduation ensuring they comply with the regulatory framework.

About the role

The role of Student Lifecycle Officer is a majority support role and is only directly student facing during enrolment and module selection. The Student Lifecycle Officer and the entire Student Lifecycle team is vital to the student experience at UCL. This is a data role that will involve working heavily with the student system SITS and the student view of this Portico. This role maintains data crucial to the full student record lifecycle. It is a busy fast paced environments, with 40000 students who select modules at UCL and over 2000 programmes and 9000 modules with curriculum information to maintain over the academic cycle. The Student Lifecycle team operate a Business Partnering model, so you will liaise with a range of internal stakeholders across UCL and will need excellent relationship building and communication skills. A key responsibility of the role is to engage with academic departments to understand the programmes and modules that fall under the role holders remit. You will be responsible for the development and maintenance of core records in Portico (SITS), and you will also support the Student Records Team in key events throughout the academic lifecycle by providing training, documentation and planning to ensure core student lifecycle data is correctly reflected in Portico. Working closely with other departments in Student and Registry Services and staff across UCL’s Faculties, the Student Lifecycle Team will be a major source of expertise on the structure of programmes, modules, their regulations and how they are set up in SITS. About you

To do this job you'll need excellent data skills and you must have experience of using student information systems particularly supporting curriculum maintenance in a Higher Education setting (preferably SITS). Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills are essential, as is the ability to manage expectations, as this will be a large part of the role. You'll also need excellent attention to detail, to be adaptable to changes in process, and have a positive "can do" attitude and a commitment to delivering a first class student experience. The ability to deal with stakeholders who may be difficult, angry or upset will be useful, though this is not the norm. You will also need to be resilient by nature and delivery-focussed.
