Job description
The Student Experience Coordinator is based in the School of Environmental Sciences Student Experience Team, and provides high level administrative support for learning and teaching activities to enhance the student experience activities. Reporting to the Student Experience Team Leader and ultimately responsible to the School Head of Operations you will lead and have line management responsibility for the Education sub-team (administrative staff ranging from Grade 4 to 5), with a large proportion of time being spent organising and motivating staff, delegating work to team members commensurate with their grade. You will be responsible for co-ordinating operational delivery of a range of administrative functions and projects related to education delivery and ensure all tasks are completed in full and to required deadlines.
This is a busy, varied and important role and requires attention to detail and an ability to multi-task, to ensure that all tasks are completed effectively to the highest of standards. Day-to-day work will be complex and involve cases that will require an excellent working knowledge and understanding of policies, regulations and ordinances, the ability to interpret, with an understanding of the implications of making decisions on these guidelines. The successful candidate will have an ability to present such information in a clear and concise way to a variety of audiences. The role involves regular liaison with other professional services staff and academic staff in Schools within the Faculty and across the University as well as with external contacts, the successful candidate should be committed to establishing themselves as a recognised point of contact for complex queries across a broad range of services and maintains an extensive network of contacts and acts as an interface between a variety of stakeholders. The role will require contributions to the Business Improvement Initiatives, review and revision of local policies and processes and shares best practice with Schools across the Faculty and central departments to ensure optimum efficiency and a consistent approach.
