About us:
Gower College Swansea is one of the largest colleges in Wales with a strong reputation for high quality teaching and learning. We have six campuses across the city with over 4,500 full time learners and 10,000 part time learners. We currently have a turnover of over £50 million making us a major employer in the region with approximately 1,000 staff.

The role:
To liaise with students in student spaces, including the student common room, catering areas, and the perimeter of the buildings, with the aim of encouraging positive behaviour and participation in activities.
- Full-time (37 hours per week)
- Term-time (36 weeks per annum)
- Fixed-term until 30th June 2023
- Pro-Rata Salary: £17,104 per annum
- 1 x Tycoch and 1 x Jubilee Court (please state in your application if you have a preferred campus location).
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with students to proactively reinforce the College’s Learner Charter - to include learners always carrying their Student ID Card and encouraging positive learner behaviour and challenging poor behaviour e.g. bad language, dropping or leaving of litter
- Support the Learner Engagement Lead, the Active Wellbeing Lead, the Student Union President and the Student Enrichment Officer with cross college enrichment activities - both on and off campus
- Take referrals from SSO team to work with lonely or anxious students, ensure students feel supported during break times and where viable buddy them with other lonely or anxious students.
About you:
- Level 3 qualifications or above in coaching, mentoring or youth work
- Experience of working with individuals or groups of young people to change and challenge behaviours
- Trained to intervene in situations of potential or actual situations of conflict
