About the role
Student Success is a newly created department (2022) bringing together services which focus on access, participation and degree outcomes across our diverse student population. We aim to widen participation, improve outcomes and break down barriers to engagement across the whole student lifecycle.
This role is part of a four-person management team for the department and deputises the head of department within the student engagement portfolio area. You will be responsible for a team of staff which include lead officers, co-ordinators and be jointly responsible for a team of supporting staff who work across the whole department.
The department is roughly split into three areas, but with much of the work overlapping. Each of the three managers work with a combination of their own portfolio area to lead as well as jointly leading some areas with a fellow manager. There are also high-level responsibilities and portfolio areas that are shared across the management team.
The Student Engagement & Success portfolio looks at how we support and enhance the student experience and ensure successful student journeys from pre-enrolment to graduation.
