Summary
The Center for Medical Ethics and Health Policy at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a part time Student Helper (~10 hours/week) to provide administrative and creative support to ensure the smooth execution of all communications, stakeholder relations and development activities for the Center for Medical Ethics and Health Policy. The Student Helper will assist the Center’s Senior Business Strategy & Development Associate in executing new and existing strategic initiatives. This is a non-laboratory, non-clinical position. This position has the opportunity for flexible work schedules, including options for remote or hybrid work. Students currently enrolled in bachelor’s or master’s degree programs are encouraged to apply.
Job Duties
- Assists in the development, planning and execution of communications and outreach strategies/plans.
- Supports the creation of content materials, including but not limited to: newsletters, social media content, website content, presentations, blog posts, news releases, fact sheets, backgrounders, biographies, pitch letters, Q&As, talking points and general correspondence.
- Creates workstreams and process improvements for content updates and dissemination plans.
- Helps manage the Center’s database of contacts.
- Conducts research on donors, prospective donors, awards, speaking engagements and media opportunities.
- Collaborates with BCM communications, marketing, office of institutional advancement and external vendors, when necessary
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a High School or College Student (undergraduate or graduate).
- No experience required.

- An interest in communications, public relations, marketing, business and development.
- A creative, out-of-the-box thinker.
- A problem-solving attitude with a passion for marketing and creativity and knowledge about pop culture trends.
- Experience in project coordination.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Capable of multi-tasking effectively, prioritizing complex deliverables, and working independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines
