ExxonMobil has operated in the U.K. for more than 135 years. We are best known today for the marketing of our Esso fuels and Mobil 1 lubricants and for our petrochemicals. We have refining and chemical operations in the UK, we operate the UK’s biggest private pipeline network and we retain a non-operated share in a number of fields in the North Sea. More recently, we are developing our involvement in lower emission projects in the UK, building on our experience in carbon capture and storage (CCS), hydrogen production and biofuels.

What role will you play in our team
If successful you will join our front office structuring and valuations team and will take responsibility for understanding and analyzing our portfolio of European contracts, physical assets, and business development opportunities, with the aim of capturing additional value by informing decisions on the optimisation of existing assets and advising on the structuring of new opportunities. To achieve this, you will combine deep market knowledge in either European gas or power, with experience of modelling contractual terms, flexibility and optionality, and optimization valuations.
What you will do
Work closely with the gas origination, power origination, and structure teams to value deals, including identifying, creating, and capturing optionality- Leverage detailed market understanding to help to drive the strategy for asset acquisitions and business development activities
- Help to lead the development & improvement of analytical tools to support the origination and business development teams as they expand into new products and markets
- Participate in interactions with internal & external developers and evaluate external tools/software for business application
- Remain knowledgeable about leading-edge developments, analytical techniques, technologies and tools in advanced quantitative analytics
About you
Be educated to advanced degree level, such as a Masters or PhD in financial engineering or quantitative finance (or hold other relevant qualifications such as FRM or CQF)- Have previous experience in European gas or power markets

Have experience in analysis & advanced analytical methods, including:
- Being highly analytical with strong quantitative capabilities
- Demonstrable analytical/innovative thinking expertise, intellectual rigor, drive, and desire to lead change
- Experience working with terminals, databases and analytical/visualisation tools
- Knowledge of data modelling

Be able to demonstrate:
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills
- The ability to collaborate effectively with internal & external customers
- A creative approach to problem solving
- The ability to work with multi-cultural global teams
