Through our people and technology, we connect clients to superior liquidity and data solutions.
The Group is home to a stable of premium brands. Role Overview
The Group Strategy function plays a key role in developing and implementing TP ICAP’s business strategy, in assessing and executing acquisitions, commercial partnerships and other investments, as well as generally helping to shape the future direction of the business.
A key focus of the Corporate Strategy Senior Manager will be on M&A projects, but the role will also require involvement in a range of continuing and ad hoc organic initiatives. With respect to M&A, you will be responsible for a number of key processes across the entire deal life cycle, from the inception of an idea to consummation. The role will report to the Group Head of Strategy, and will often work closely with the Group Finance team and senior leaders within TP ICAP’s C-suite and business divisions.
Role Responsibilities
  • Business Strategy – Maintaining an understanding of the Company’s strategic and financial objectives, with the aim of furthering organic ambitions and initiatives, as well as working closely with TP ICAP’s core divisions to identify and assess relevant targets for potential acquisition and/or commercial partnerships. This will include developing financial models to quantitatively assess relevant opportunities
  • Deal Management – Leading and managing the M&A process, coordinating key due diligence workstreams with subject matter experts within the wider Group to evaluate the merits of a potential transaction. This often also involves working closely with third party financial and legal advisors
  • Decision-Making Process – Ensuring all M&A and significant commercial partnership decisions follow the corporate governance process for evaluating potential transactions including writing investment papers for the Executive Committee and Board approval
  • Research – Research work will include exploration and analysis of topics of interest to the firm, research on specific entities and competitors, and identification of targets having specific capabilities in areas that may be of interest to the Company
  • Post-Transaction Planning – Working closely with Group Finance and TP ICAP’s business units to facilitate the development of integration plans, and post-deal assessment frameworks.
  • Relationships – Group Strategy works in partnership with Group Finance on both the assessment and integration planning aspects of corporate transactions, as well as with the relevant business units.
  • Wider Strategy Group Work – The Group Strategy function is involved in a wide and varied range of group activity and initiatives, across asset classes and regions. As a senior member of the strategy function, your role will include involvement in the broader work of the Company and the team.
  • Deal Origination – Building and actively maintaining a robust universe of potential targets for acquisition and/or partnership. Engaging with private equity, investment banks, financial and legal advisors, trade associations, and relevant corporates, with the objective of actively identifying and engaging with attractive targets
