Strategy and Policy Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in the Mayor's Office as a Strategy and Policy Officer, working closely with the Strategy, Policy and Improvement (SPI) team and Strategy, Improvement and Transformation (SIT) team. The role will be focussed on the delivery of the council's strategic plan, working between the Mayor's Office and SIT team on strategic policy and performance monitoring.

The role will involve:

o Direct drafting of strategy and policy documents to implement the objectives of the Strategic Plan.

o Working closely with the Mayor's Office to monitor delivery of key objectives.

o Direct research as well as liaison with colleagues in Strategy, Policy and Improvement to obtain and use relevant evidence ensuring objectives are met and key performance targets reached.

o Drawing on all available sources of evidence to support the identification of priority outcomes for services in specialist area and for the Council as a whole.
