Content Strategist, Digital Strategy
Required Position
TERM APPOINTMENT: June 2023 to June 2024
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager of Digital Strategy, the Content Strategist is responsible for developing and enhancing digital content at Laurentian University. This includes working on multiple platforms including; websites, social media, and other digital communication vehicles. The content strategist will ensure that text, photos, and videos featured in external communications will positively contribute to organizational goals of student recruitment and national recognition.
These activities include;
- Developing new content for the external websites;
- Modifying existing content by enhancing the quality of these messages;
- Support content authors around campus by providing leadership and training;
- Completing website audits for all key pages of Laurentian.ca;
- Support the implementation of Laurentian University’s web strategy;
- Support digital advertising campaigns on multiple platforms (web, social media) by developing content and adjusting content over time;
- Working collaboratively with departments across campus to enhance digital messaging;
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Relevant undergraduate degree or 3 year college diploma (communications, business, journalism, languages);
- One to three years of work experience in developing content for high-traffic digital platforms (including websites and social media);
- Experience collaborating with a community of authors;
- Experience in working with a Search Engine Optimization tool, Email Marketing Automation Software and Google Analytics;
- Excellent writing ability in both French and English is necessary.
The official University hours of operation shall be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, during, and including, the months from September to April, and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m Monday through Friday during and including May to August., amounting to thirty-three and three-quarter (33.75) hours per week.
Effective May 1, 2022 the Policy and Program on COVID-19 Vaccination are placed in abeyance. This means the Policy and Program on COVID-19 Vaccination are paused at this time; however, they are not canceled and could be reinstated at a future date if public health conditions warrant it, or through guidance from federal, provincial or local public health authorities. The evolution of the virus and the course of the disease activity are difficult to predict and it may be necessary to reinstate the Policy in full or in part, on short notice. When the Policy and Program on COVID-19 Vaccination are paused, persons entering Laurentian’s campus will no longer be required to provide proof of vaccination in order to attend campus.
