We are looking for an enthusiastic Sports Trainer to join our Education & Skills Team to lead the delivery of sports sessions to young people aged 11-29 in Birmingham and the surrounding area.
This dynamic role will work alongside the Education & Skills Team, sessional staff and volunteers to deliver varied and inclusive sessions. The role will include supporting recruitment, administration and ensuring delivery is safe and high quality.

Job description
The Sports Officer will:
- To confidently lead the delivery of sports sessions to young people aged 11-29, across multiple sites in Birmingham and the surrounding areas, in line with Sport 4 Life’s sports curriculum.
- To lead on the planning of activities outside of the weekly timetable, including but not limited to, quarterly tournaments and monthly female socials.
- To support the recruitment of eligible young people onto service through community outreach, events and partnerships.
- To deliver safe sessions in line with safety and safeguarding guidelines.
- To record and track progress of young people inline with our monitoring & evaluation processes.
- To support administrative duties as required.
Essential & Desirable Criteria
Essential:
- Evidence of CPD in youth education/ sport sector
- A relevant Level 1 NGB in sport qualification
- Experience of working with hard to reach young people
- 1 year + working with 11-29 year olds
- 1 year + sports coaching
- A driving license and access to a vehicle
- Excellent customer service skills
- An up to date understanding of safeguarding practices
Desirable:
- A relevant degree in sports coaching and/ or youth education
- Experience working with female only groups
- 2 years + sports coaching experience
- Experience working with NGB’s in sport
- A relevant Level 1 NGB in sport qualification
Location: Midlands Based (dependant upon delivery), with travel to delivery sites and Sport 4 Life offices (Digbeth)
