Our Enterprise & Strategic Risk Management (E&SRM) team is a central Risk Management team, focused on shaping how risk is managed across the firm and enabling executive leaders of the firm confidently navigate an ever-changing risk landscape. Our team comprises two key strands:
Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) - driving the approach to identify, assess, and report on the firm’s most material risks (Top Risks). A core responsibility of ERM involves facilitating the firm’s Annual Risk Review (ARR) process, which is the firm’s process to identify its Top Risks
Strategic Risk Management (SRM) - driving analysis of key uncertainties and risks that may impact the firm’s delivery of its strategy; and developing innovative risk management approaches to assess and respond to a changing risk environment
The post holder, an experienced Manager, will support the strategic risk management strand and report into Adrien Ducarre, SRM lead.
In this capacity, the post holder is expected to:
Drive and support identification and analysis of emerging risks and threats that could impact the firm’s strategy
Support the development of new risk frameworks & approaches to evolve the way we assess and respond to a changing risk environment
Collaborate with other PwC teams to drive change through SRM, delivering joint projects and/or providing advice to the LoS, Risk Management and other Business Solutions teams as required
Identify opportunities to leverage data analytics to assess potential strategic risk exposures for the firm, working with our Data Analytics manager to drive data-driven risk insights
Produce strategic risk insights for Senior Leadership, including the Chief Risk Officer & General Counsel, UK Risk Leader & senior risk governance committees such as the Executive Risk Committee (ERC) and Risk Management Oversight Board (RMOB)
Support with upskilling other parts of the firm on strategic risk exposures and new risk frameworks
This is a high-profile role with visibility to the Firm’s Chief Risk Officer and General Counsel, Alison Statham, a member of the Management Board.

Essential skills:
Excellent critical thinking & analytical skills, including the ability to think strategically and display lateral thinking
Strong business acumen to assess strategic risk exposures and future implications for different parts of the firm
Excellent written skills including ability to synthesise complex information and make substantiated, compelling recommendations to influence senior leaders.
Excellent communication skills and ability to present to senior leaders within the firm, e.g UK Risk Leader.
Inclusive working style, including inclusive leadership style and ability to collaborate effectively with other teams.
Excellent delivery track-record, with proven experience delivering projects independently & solving complex business problems
Desirable skills:
A good practical understanding of the PwC strategy, including how the Firm is growing and disruptions it is facing.
A good practical understanding of the working processes of the Firm, including the interactions between Lines of Service and central operations would be an advantage.
