POSITION TITLE: Strategic Projects Associate (Project Management)
COMPENSATION: $58,500 Annually
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Strategic Projects Associate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, with an emphasis on relationship building and project management, to support the development, formalization, and implementation of new initiatives and relationships. Members of the Strategy and Development Team are committed to increasing the engagement of individuals and organizations with La Familia, helping them stay connected, and encouraging continued and increased partnership. The Strategic Projects Associate will also support the strategic capacity of the agency, including system implementation and other important tasks.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
o Project Management (Including Early-Stage Implementation Support)
i. Conceptualize, brainstorm, create, and update project plans, including corresponding goals, charts, budgets, and documents.
ii. Utilize strong facilitation skills to lead project management work sessions and meetings and strong communication skills to provide reminders, follow-ups, and accountability to project contributors (including internal and external partners).
iii. Communicate status updates to key stakeholders.
iv. Support the development and adaptation of guiding documents for new programming and initiatives, including job descriptions, program
i. models/workflows, quality improvement processes, training documents, and program manuals.
ii. Liaison with the vendors and funders regarding contract execution and implementation, including attending trainings and planning meetings.
o Strategic Partnership Coordination
- Build and maintain relationships with other non-profit organizations, foundations, and funders to design and implement initiatives that support mutual goals to support the community.
- Represent La Familia with strategic community partners and community-facing groups.
- Coordinate public/private partnerships that elevate the La Familia brand.
- Support opportunities to position La Familia as a sector leader with strategic partnerships, special events, speaking engagements, and media placements.
o Contract Execution
- Work with funders and internal stakeholders to negotiate contract details and manage the contract execution process with government and foundation funders.
- Develop contract and memorandum of understanding language and manage the execution process to formalize relationships with subcontractors and other partner agencies.
- Monitor contracts and memorandum of understanding dates and initiate renewal process.
o Grant Development
- Identify and track appropriate funding opportunities to maintain and enhance services.
- Monitor trends in the funding landscape, including local and state policy.
- Manage and/or support the submission of the grant proposal process, including work with internal stakeholders on proposal concept, narrative writing, generating and gathering proposal attachments, proposal budget development, and proposal submission.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s degree in social work, public policy, public health or related degree required. Degree may be waived with significant relevant experience.
· 1-4 years’ experience developing written documents for a stakeholder audience and/or managing projects.
· Experience developing county, state, and federal grant proposals, preferred.
